Chalice - collages

"The architecture of the picture acts directly on the sensory apparatus of the perceiver. There are no layers of suggestive "meaning", no suppositions about what may lie behind the picture, no nostalgia for emotional moments which may have sparked it. This is just the typical English prevarication before the facts of sensation, the nostalgia for hidden meanings, the urge to replace plastic and visual values with a peep-show into confessional hints of a lubricious life-style or private worlds.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Alan Gouk
